Safety First: Suite of Advanced Safety Features in 2025 Volkswagen SUVs
At Carolina Volkswagen, we know that safety is a priority every time you get behind the wheel. That’s why we’re excited to showcase the cutting-edge driver-assistance technologies in the 2025 lineup of Volkswagen SUVs.
Whether you’re navigating Charlotte’s busy city streets or heading out for a weekend escape, Volkswagen’s advanced safety systems are designed to provide peace of mind. Here, we’ll dive into the standout driver-assistance features that make models like the 2025 Tiguan, Atlas, and Taos smarter, safer, and more confident on the road.

Safety Suite
Front Assist
The Volkswagen Front Assist, which uses radar sensors and a camera to alert you when there is a potential frontal crash, comes standard on most 2025 SUV models. If the distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you is too short, an alert chimes on the dashboard, warning you to slow down.
Autonomous emergency braking applies the brakes to slow down the vehicle and prevent a crash. Some models also add pedestrian and cyclist monitoring systems.
Lane Assist
Lane Assist helps keep you from drifting out of your lane when driving on roads with visible lane markings. It uses cameras to note the vehicle’s position in the lane and alerts you or even makes subtle steering adjustments when you start veering outside of it.
Lane Change System Side Assist
Lane Change System Side Assist is helpful when switching lanes on the highway. If you need to change lanes and there’s a vehicle in your blind spot, a warning light flashes on the side mirror. This feature will also alert you if a vehicle is closing in on the lane you’re trying to switch to.
Active Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert
The Active Blind Spot Monitor alerts you when a vehicle is detected in your blind spot and can even slightly adjust your steering to help avoid a collision. The available rear traffic alert system will warn you if another vehicle is in your path as you reverse. If you don’t slow down, the system will automatically apply the brakes.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Adaptive Cruise Control helps you maintain a preset speed and a safe distance from the car ahead, saving you from constantly slowing down and speeding up. If the car ahead stops, adaptive cruise control will bring your Volkswagen to a stop and accelerate once the car starts moving again.
Light Assist
Light Assist automatically switches between low and high beams to help you drive safely at night. When you’re on a poorly lit road, the system turns on high beams to help you see the road properly. When it detects an oncoming vehicle, it automatically switches to low beams.
